BROTHER LAUNCHES NEW CLASS-LEADING COLOUR LASER RANGE

Office technology specialist Brother has launched a new range of colour laser printers and all-in-ones with best-in-class output speeds and features.

The line up of seven new machines, all of which are driven by Brother’s new colour laser engine, print colour documents at mono speeds (upto 20 ppm). This is thanks to the use of single pass technology, which requires paper to be passed across the drum just once to pick up all four colours rather than four times.

Brother has also packed a host of innovative features into the different models which occupy a smaller desktop footprint than most competitor models.

Taking the ‘time is money’ one step further, Brother’s new range offers high speeds at low costs in a bid to increase business efficiency and lower long-term costs. Printers start from £299 (SSP exc VAT) whilst all-in-ones come in at £429 (SSP exc VAT) for an entry level product.

The range features some highly innovative functions, offering the only colour laser all-in-one to print double-sided and the only colour laser machines with built-in wireless technology.

Brother’s new colour laser models are also the first devices to support Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption, which prevents hacking and allows sensitive documents to be printed securely both wirelessly and via a network. SSL is already widely used in e-commerce to protect customer information such as credit card details. This is the first time this technology has been used to provide a truly secure network printer.

Both the new printer and all-in-one models are equipped with a unique print from USB feature, enabling PDFs, TIFFs, JPEGs and PRN files to be printed without a PC or laptop and the all-in-ones also allow users to scan direct to USB – ideal for professionals on the move. In addition, the new machines will be the only colour lasers on the market to feature the PictBridge application, allowing users to connect a digital camera direct to the device via a USB.

When coupled with the compact design of the machines and Brother’s on-site warranty and UK-based customer care call centre, it’s clear that even with their first steps into the colour laser market, Brother looks set to cause a stir.

The full range of new colour laser models and availability are as follows:
